President Election: Modi met NDA’s presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu, gave a bouquet and said – your vision for the country is unmatched

New Delhi: NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu reached Delhi today for the presidential election. BJP leaders welcomed him as soon as he landed at the airport. After some time PM Narendra Modi also met him. Sharing a picture of Mrs Murmu presenting a bouquet, the PM tweeted, “Her presidential candidacy has been appreciated across India by all sections of society. His understanding of the problems on the ground and his vision for India’s development is unmatched. Sources said that his nomination papers are being prepared at the residence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda will be among his proposers.

The documents have been signed at the residence of Union Minister and senior BJP leader Joshi as a proposer and a supporter. Sasmit Patra of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is also among those who signed the documents. The BJD has supported Murmu’s nomination. Murmu is expected to file his nomination papers in the presence of top party leaders.

BJP leaders welcomed at the airport
After reaching Delhi this morning, Murmu was received by BJP leaders at the airport. She is staying here at Odisha Bhawan.

In Odisha, before leaving for the national capital, Murmu had said, “I thank everyone and seek cooperation from everyone for the presidential election.” I will meet all the voters (MPs) before July 18 and seek their support. If she wins the election, she will be India’s first tribal president and the second woman to hold the position.
