Rahul Gandhi’s lawyer Tarannum Cheema told the Delhi High Court that the controversial tweet has been removed. The lawyer highlighted that the tweet was not only blocked in India, but it was also removed internationally. A lawyer for X (Twitter) confirmed this statement.

Delhi Police produced a sealed cover report detailing the filing of the First Information Report (FIR) against Rahul Gandhi in September 2021. The report informed about the legal action related to the case. These arguments were made before a bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan Singh and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora.

In the year 2021, a case of rape and subsequent death of a 9-year-old Dalit girl came to light in Delhi Cantonment area. The girl had gone to collect water from a cremation ground. Rahul Gandhi had met the victim’s parents during that time and pictures of him consoling them were later posted on his official X (Twitter) handle. Subsequently, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) filed a complaint, urging criminal action against Gandhi.
