He has met Donald Lu, a diplomat posted in the US State Department who looks after South and Central Asia affairs.

Donald Lu is considered an expert in coups and his role in changing governments has been discussed from Pakistan to Bangladesh. Not only this, when Imran Khan blamed America after the fall of his government in Pakistan, he openly took the name of Donald Lu. While questions are being raised in India about Rahul Gandhi’s meeting with him, the spokesperson of the US State Department said that it was a normal meeting. This meeting has taken place when Donald Lu is going to visit India and Bangladesh at the end of this month.

Regarding the meeting, the US spokesperson said, ‘The US government keeps meeting the leaders of the governments and opposition parties of other countries or people from civil society. This is part of the normal routine meeting with our partners.’ However, he also said that information about what happened during this time cannot be given. Rahul Gandhi met many US lawmakers at Capitol Hill. Apart from this, he also met many leaders of the Indian community. Rahul Gandhi also shared a picture of one such meeting. He wrote, ‘It was a pleasure to meet US lawmakers at Rayburn House in Washington DC. We talked about strengthening the relationship between India and America.’
