Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has described DFCCIL as the ‘Jewel of Indian Railways’.
The program was being held on the 17th foundation day of DFCCIL in Delhi.
In the program, the Railway Minister also told about the 28 major reforms initiated by the Railways.
New Delhi. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav presented awards to DFCCIL teams and individual employees for their outstanding performance on the 17th Foundation Day of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCCIL) in Delhi. While addressing this program organized at India Habitat Centre, Vaishnav has described DFCCIL as ‘Jewel of Indian Railways’. Along with this, he appreciated the hard work and dedication of the team of the department.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in his address as the chief guest in the program said that DFC has created new ways of working. Along with this, it also created new methods for project implementation. Along with this, new standards have also been set about how to develop Indian Railways in future.
The Railway Minister also told about the 28 major reforms initiated by the Railways. He said that projects worth Rs 90,000 crore have been identified by the Indian Railways to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods.
Ashwini Vaishnav further said that the construction of cargo corridors in mineral-rich Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Odisha can significantly increase the cargo-carrying capacity of Indian Railways. Vaishnav said the DFC should focus on the transition from the construction phase to the operation and maintenance (O&M) phase.

Railway Board Chairman and DFCCIL Chairman VK Tripathi, Railway Board Secretary RN Singh, DFCCIL MD RK Jain were also prominently present in this program.
