Railways changed the name of ‘Vande Metro’, now this will be the new identity of the train – Hindustan News Hub

India is going to get the country’s first Vande Metro train today on Monday. PM Modi will inaugurate the second phase of the metro rail service connecting Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar and will also ride the metro train. Before this, a big decision has been taken by the Railways regarding Vande Metro. Railways has changed the name of Vande Metro. Now it will be known as ‘Namo Bharat Rapid Rail’.

What will be the schedule and fare?

According to Western Railway officials, the Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro train (now Namo Bharat Rapid Rail) will stop at nine stations and cover a distance of 360 km in five hours and 45 minutes at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. It will depart from Bhuj at 5:05 am and reach Ahmedabad Junction at 10:50 am, officials had said. Its regular service for passengers will start from Ahmedabad from September 17 and the fare per passenger for the entire journey will be Rs 455.

More than a thousand passengers can sit

Giving a comprehensive description of the Vande Metro train and other metros operating in the country, the ministry said the Vande Metro runs at a maximum speed of 110 kmph. It said the advantage is that it will speed up the journey and improve efficiency. It said the Vande Metro train is equipped with advanced safety systems like anti-collision ‘Kavach’. The Railway Ministry said the Vande Metro train will have 12 coaches with a seating capacity of 1,150 passengers.

How to get tickets?

According to the information given by the railways, Vande Bharat Metro (now Namo Bharat Rapid Rail) has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. This train is completely unreserved and air-conditioned. Passengers will be able to buy tickets from the counter shortly before the departure of the train. This train has been designed on the lines of the indigenous semi-high-speed train Vande Bharat. (Report: Anamika Gaur)
