Railways will run special MEMU train in Kumbh Mela, know what will be the route – Hindustan News Hub

Railways will run special MEMU train during Kumbh Mela.

Prayagraj: Prayagraj division of North Central Railway has decided to run a special MEMU train for the devotees coming to Prayagraj during the Kumbh Mela. Railways is preparing to start ‘Fast Ring MEMU’ service for the first time to visit Ramlala in Ayodhya and Baba Vishwanath in Varanasi. Divisional Railway Manager Himanshu Badoni told in Prayagraj that this ‘Fast Ring MEMU’ service will come from Prayagraj via Ayodhya and Varanasi. He told that similarly the second train will come from Prayagraj to Prayagraj via Varanasi and Ayodhya.

‘Preparations to run 825 trains on peak days’

DRM said that this train service will be available on all days except the main bathing festivals and 2 MEMU services (one towards Varanasi and the other towards Ayodhya) will be run from Prayagraj daily. Prayagraj Division is going to start this service for the first time in Kumbh Mela. Badoni said that preparations have been made to run 825 trains on the peak days of the Kumbh Mela, whereas in the last Kumbh Mela held in 2019, 694 trains were run on the peak days. He told that these trains will be for short distance travel i.e. up to 200 kilometers.

‘A total of 1225 trains will be run during the fair’

Badoni said, ‘For long distances, approval has been given to run 400 trains by North Central Railways. In this way, a total of 1225 trains will be run during the fair. The special emphasis of the Railways is on minimizing the possibility of any kind of danger, for which all the three zones of the Railways, North Central Railway, Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway are preparing on war footing. Prayagraj has 4 stations of North Central Railway, 3 stations of Northern Railway and 2 stations of North Eastern Railway. For the convenience of passengers, Prayagraj Division has prepared a toll free number 1800-4199-139, which will become operational from November 1.

These works are being done for the convenience of devotees

Badoni said that passengers will be able to get information about all types of facilities in their mother tongue from anywhere on the toll free number. He said, ’21 railway overbridges or railway underbridges in Prayagraj will become operational before the Kumbh Mela, which will help in reducing congestion. Apart from this, Integrated Fair Control Tower has been installed at Prayagraj Junction which will play an important role in controlling the crowd. For the convenience of the devotees during the fair, 8 thousand employees will be deployed from other districts, which includes 2200 employees of Railway Protection Force. (Language)
