Rain can bring relief to Delhi-NCR from air pollution, know what is IMD’s forecast

However, according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, Delhi-NCR is expected to get relief from pollution due to rain. The IMD has predicted light rain in parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, a Cyclonic Circulation is persisting over the South-West Bay of Bengal and the adjoining Equatorial Indian Ocean.

A Western Disturbance is over North Afghanistan and adjoining North Pakistan. The Induced Cyclonic Circulation lies over Southwest Rajasthan. Another cyclonic circulation has been observed over Bangladesh and adjoining areas.

Due to the influence of the above weather systems, during the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain at isolated places is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Moderate rain may occur at one or two places over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Lakshadweep and parts of Punjab. Light rain is possible in parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Light to moderate rain and snow may occur over Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Scattered light rain and snow are possible in Uttarakhand. Due to snowfall on the mountains, a decrease in the temperature of Delhi can be recorded. At the same time, light fog can also be seen.

During this, the air quality index of Delhi and NCR remained in the poor to very poor category. The minimum temperature has dropped drastically in some parts of Rajasthan. Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 33.5 degree Celsius on November 7, which is the highest for the month of November since 2008.
