Rajasthan: Gehlot government’s big bet before PM Modi’s visit, declared holiday on Devnarayan Jayanti

Before the visit of PM Narendra Modi to Rajasthan, the Gehlot government, playing a big bet, has announced a public holiday on Saturday on Devnarayan Jayanti. Along with this, by demanding inclusion of MBC reservation in the ninth schedule, the ball has been put in the court of the Central Government and the BJP. On the 1111th birth anniversary of Devnarayan Bhagwan, the deity of Gurjars, PM Modi is coming to Malaseri Dungri located in Asind of Bhilwara district on Saturday.

This visit of PM Modi is being seen as an exercise to help Gurjar community. According to experts, to reduce the impact of PM Modi’s visit, the state government has made a big bet. The state government has made this announcement on Friday just before PM Modi’s visit. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to declare a state holiday in Rajasthan on the birth anniversary of Lord Devnarayan. It is being told that this decision has been taken by the Chief Minister keeping in mind the faith of the common man and the demands of the people’s representatives.

Congress representatives had demanded
Devnarayan Board President Jogendra Singh Awana, Industries Minister Shakuntala Rawat and Minister of State for Sports Ashok Chandna, including various public representatives, had written letters demanding that Lord Devnarayan Jayanti be declared a holiday. Devnarayan Board President Jogendra Singh Awana told that on January 24 itself, he had written a letter to the CM demanding that it be declared a holiday.

Awana targets BJP
President of Devnarayan Board, Jogendra Singh Awana has also targeted BJP while expressing gratitude to CM Gehlot. Describing CM Gehlot as Gujjar well-wisher, Awana has also counted his work done for Gujjars. He told that CM Gehlot has given one percent reservation in the year 2010 and 5 percent in the year 2019. Due to this, 10 thousand MBC class got jobs. This includes 100 RAS, RPS and other equivalent posts. Appointments have been received for more than 300 doctors and teachers posts.

Awana enumerated the works of Gehlot government
Apart from this, the tuition fees of MBC class students have been waived off in the medical college. He also did not forget to mention that CM Gehlot has also given political representation to Gujjars. Due to this, out of 8 Gujjar MLAs in the Gehlot government, 4 MLAs are on the post of Minister, Advisor and Chairman of the Board Corporation. Awana alleged that 73 Gujjars were killed by bullets by the BJP government. Regarding PM Modi’s visit, Awana said that if the central government is really pro-Gurjar, then MBC reservation should be included in the ninth schedule.

Gurjar community has deep faith in God Devnarayan.
Significantly, Lord Devnarayan is worshiped in the form of a cow protector, a folk deity who removes the sufferings of helpless people and a mighty warrior. He is worshiped by a large number of devotees from different societies in Rajasthan and other states. But Gurjar community has maximum faith in him. In such a situation, before the elections, both the parties are trying to make Gurjar community in their favor.
