Rising India, Real Heroes: Meet Tajamul Islam, the ‘boxer’s daughter’ of Bandipora

Tajamul Islam is a teenage kickboxer who has become an inspiration for Kashmiris. Tajamul is the first Kashmiri girl to represent India and win a gold medal in the World Kickboxing Championships. Tajamul hails from a village in Bandipora district of North Kashmir. Tajamul has become an inspiration to many after winning the gold medal twice.

He also won a medal in the recently held World Kickboxing Championship in Egypt. Last year, in a viral video, Tajamul had expressed her desire to meet the Prime Minister and the Union Sports Minister and seek their blessings for her future works.

Tajamul is also the brand ambassador of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. Tajamul’s determination and success at such a young age has made him a role model for many aspiring athletes in the country.
