RRR centers opened for the first time in this city, common people will be able to donate old things, recycling will help the needy
Chandigarh. A unique initiative has been started in Punjab to help the needy and keep the city clean. Ludhiana Municipal Corporation has set up 19 RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) centers across the city to encourage cleanliness and reuse or recycling of waste material under the My Life, My Clean City campaign.
Local Government Minister Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijjar inaugurated one of the 19 centers located at Jaimal Singh Road, Janta Nagar and appealed people to come forward to donate used or old items to the RRR centers. He told that its objective is not only to manage the waste, but also to develop the trend of depositing used materials, goods or products by the citizens at the centers.
This campaign will continue till June 5 (World Environment Day). Although people have already started donating old things at these centres. These things will be given to the needy or NGOs after June 5 so that they can be recycled and used again.

Please tell that RRR centers will be operational from 7 am to 2 pm till June 5. People can donate used clothes, books, electronic items, sporting goods etc. E-rickshaws have also been deployed to spread awareness about this campaign among the city residents. People can also put their belongings or material in the e-rickshaw and then they will be taken to the centres.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shena Aggarwal said that it is a good sign that people have already started donating items at the centers and we are expecting a lot of support in the coming days.
