Indian women shooter Rubina Francis won the bronze medal in the shooting event of the Paris Paralympics 2024 Games on Saturday. India’s Rubina Francis won the bronze medal with a score of 211.1 in the women’s 10m air pistol SH1 final. India won two gold, one silver and two bronze medals in shooting at the Tokyo Paralympics. At the same time, India has won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in Paris Paralympics.
This was India’s fourth medal in shooting at the Paris Paralympics and fifth overall. Sareh Javanmardi won the final easily, making it a hat-trick of Paralympic gold medals in the event. He also won gold medals in Rio in 2016 and Tokyo in 2021.
Rubina scored 556 points in the qualification round of women’s 10m air pistol SH1 and finished seventh. In another match, Indian male shooter Swaroop Unhalkar has been eliminated from the Paris Paralympics. Swaroop scored 613.4 in the men’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 qualification round and finished 14th. With this defeat, Swaroop Unhalkar’s campaign ended.
