Winning a medal in the Olympic Games is not an easy task, the Olympic Games are played once in four years and one has to work hard just to qualify for it. Recently, India did not win a single gold medal in the Paris Olympic Games. India won a total of six medals in the Paris Olympic Games, which included one silver and five bronze medals. During the Paris Olympic Games, Saina Nehwal had said some such things, for which she was trolled heavily. Actually, in the Paris Olympic Games, wrestler Vinesh Phogat had qualified for the gold medal match, but she was disqualified due to being 100 grams overweight and she could not win any medal. Commenting on this, Saina had said that Vinesh herself is also responsible for this.
During a conversation with RJ Anmol and Amrita Rao, Saina’s husband and star badminton player Parupalli Kashyap had mentioned this and said, ‘During the Paris Olympics, Saina had said something and in the comments people started saying that she had received the bronze medal as a gift.’ To this, Saina replied with a vehement reply, ‘You should at least be worthy of the Olympic level. First qualify for the Olympics.’
In the 2012 Olympic Games, Saina was competing with China’s Van Jin for the bronze medal. Saina lost the first game 18-21 and in the second game she was trailing 0-1. After this, Van Jin’s leg got twisted and she had to be out of the match, she had to withdraw from the match and Saina thus captured the bronze medal. Saina has given a hint of retiring from badminton.
