Sanjay Roy is not Rai, he is from Bihar; Mamata is making the Kolkata incident an outsider vs Bengali issue

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is seen giving an outsider vs Bengali angle to the Kolkata incident. A video has surfaced on social media in which she can be seen talking about this. CM Mamata says that it is Rai and not Sanjay Roy who was arrested on charges of rape and murder at RG Kar Hospital. There was an incident of molestation in a hospital in Howrah and Aman Raj was arrested in this case. Both of them are from Bihar. She said, ‘The question is how did Sanjay Rai become a civic volunteer and how did Aman Raj become a lab technician in a government hospital? After all, who is depriving Bengalis and giving employment to outsiders?’

In the video, Mamata Banerjee says, ‘I request the people of Bihar with folded hands. Brothers, we consider you as our own family. When you work, think that this is also your home. It is your duty to protect it.’ It is known that a trainee doctor was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar College and Hospital, whose body was found in the seminar hall on August 9. A day after this incident, the main suspect ‘Sanjay Roy’, who worked as a volunteer in Kolkata Police, was arrested.

What is the Howrah Hospital incident?

At the same time, a 12-year-old girl was molested in a government hospital in Howrah district of Bengal. A laboratory technician was arrested in this case. Police said that the incident took place in the evening at Howrah District Headquarters Hospital, where the girl was admitted last week. A member of the girl’s family claimed that she came out of the laboratory crying because the accused had touched her inappropriately. He had threatened her that if she told anyone about this matter, she would have to face serious consequences. The laboratory assistant was arrested in this case and the investigation is going on.
