Amid the fierce conflict between Russia and Ukraine and efforts for ceasefire, the US and UK governments have expressed concern over Vladimir Putin’s dangerous intentions. It is reported that there is a secret deal between Russia and Iran. In which Russia is helping Iran with secret information and technology to make it a nuclear-rich country, in return Iran is giving Russia ballistic missiles in the fight against Ukraine. A few days ago Ukraine had requested its western allies to also help it with short-range missiles because Russia is getting many ballistic missiles including Fatah-360 from Iran.
Officials familiar with the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Kremlin (Russia) has increased its cooperation with Iran in recent months over its ambitions to acquire nuclear weapons. They said US and UK officials discussed this in Washington this week. British Prime Minister Starmer and US President Joe Biden have considered this worrying.
According to a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, Biden’s administration is deeply concerned about Iran’s nuclear activities. The spokesperson said on Saturday that Biden has made it clear that the US is ready to use all its strength to prevent any nuclear escalation by Iran. On the other hand, the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Iranian Embassy in Vienna have refused to comment on this.
Earlier, the US and UK foreign ministers had expressed concern about the new deal between Russia and Iran. Ukraine then alleged that Iran was supplying ballistic missiles to Russia. However, the use of Iranian missiles by Russia during the war could not be confirmed. Earlier, Russia has used Iranian drones in Ukraine attacks.
The US State Department said in a joint statement on Saturday that Antony Blinken and British Foreign Secretary David Lammy agreed during talks in London that “Iran’s nuclear program has never been more advanced.” Iran, on the other hand, is insisting that it is not considering building nuclear weapons, although it has expressed concern that it could build them in response to rising tensions with Israel.
