Sharad Pawar in favor of abolishing 50 percent limit of reservation, told why it is needed

Before the Maharashtra Assembly elections, the issue of Maratha quota has again gained prominence in the state. After a long time, NCP-SP leader Sharad Pawar has broken his silence on this. He said that Maratha community should get reservation and I do not consider anything wrong in it. Along with this he said that no other community should be harmed for Maratha reservation. This quota should be separate. Along with this, he said that this can be possible only when the 50 percent limit of reservation is abolished. For this the law will have to be changed.

Sharad Pawar said, ‘Everyone has this feeling that reservation should be given. There is nothing wrong in this. But while doing this, it should be kept in mind that the rights of those people who are currently getting the benefit of reservation are not affected. It should not cause any harm. According to the current provision of reservation, its limit should not be more than 50 percent. Now if it has to be increased to more than 50 percent then the law will have to be changed. In this way, Sharad Pawar has also supported the stand of Congress and Rahul Gandhi, under which he is demanding abolition of the 50 percent limit of quota.

During this, Sharad Pawar also talked about seat distribution for the assembly elections. He said that I am not involved in the discussion on seat sharing. Jayant Patil is doing this work on our behalf. You people should ask him only. Along with this he said that like the Lok Sabha elections, this time also there will be no dispute between us. He said that we are fully prepared to contest the elections together. Not only this, he also refused to consider PM Modi’s visit to the Chief Justice’s place for Ganesh Puja as an issue. Sharad Pawar expressed a different opinion from the opposition and said that both of them are on top positions. Those posts are institutions in themselves and it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain their dignity.
