Sharad Pawar News : Modi government is anti-farmer, failed on employment… Pawar’s big attack, the country is in trouble

New Delhi: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has called for unity of anti-BJP forces ahead of the proposed assembly elections in several states in the coming months. It has been said that party chief Sharad Pawar will play an important role in this regard. Addressing the NCP’s Extended Working Committee in Delhi, Pawar alleged that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government is “anti-farmer” and has also “failed” in tackling the issue of unemployment. He also criticized the BJP over the release of the convicts in the Bilkis Bano gang rape case.

“I am surprised that the prime minister talks about upholding the dignity of women and two days later the BJP government in his home state reduced the punishment for those who tortured Bilkis Bano and his family,” Pawar said. The NCP’s Extended Working Committee re-elected Pawar as the party’s national president. The senior leader said farmers were hoping to get a good price for their paddy crop, but the government imposed a 20 per cent export duty on rice and banned the export of broken rice.

On the political resolution, senior NCP leader Praful Patel said that leaders of various political parties take Pawar’s advice on issues of national importance and experienced leaders will play an important role in shaping politics in the times to come. Addressing the meeting, senior NCP leader PC Chacko criticized the Congress for maintaining the old mindset and failing to recognize the changed political landscape.

Elections in Gujarat, Himachal this year
Assembly elections are due in December in BJP-ruled Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, while nine other states, including Rajasthan and Karnataka, are due next year. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have also held talks with Pawar and they are emphasizing on opposition unity to take on the BJP.
