Shivdeep Lande increased the suspense, said- neither am I going into politics, nor am I in talks with any party

Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Purnia Range IG Shivdeep Lande has clarified that he is not in talks with any political party and neither is he going to join any political party’s ideology. Lande’s open dismissal of the possibility of a political innings has further increased the suspense over his next step as to why he has left his job and what he is going to do next in Bihar. 48-year-old Lande, a resident of Akola in Maharashtra, had sent his resignation to the government on Thursday.

Shivdeep Lande, a 2006 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre, had announced his resignation through a Facebook post and said that he was not leaving Bihar. Lande had also said that Bihar would remain his karmabhoomi. After this, there were speculations about him joining Prashant Kishore’s Jan Suraj and contesting elections from any assembly seat in Patna city.

Shivdeep Wamanrao Lande wrote in a post on Facebook on Friday- “First of all, I want to thank everyone with all my heart because I had never imagined that I would get the kind of love and response I am getting since yesterday. After my resignation yesterday, some media people are trying to find out the possibility that I might be joining a political party. Through this post, I want to tell everyone that I am neither talking to any political party nor am I going to join any party’s ideology. Please do not associate my name with anyone.”

Announcing his resignation in a Facebook post on Thursday, Shivdeep Lande wrote that he has resigned from the Indian Police Service (IPS) but will stay in Bihar and Bihar will remain his karmabhoomi in future too. After Lande dismissed the speculations of starting a political innings, the suspense over his next step has increased. If Lande is not going into politics, is he going to start an NGO for social service or is he going to take up a job in a corporate house?
