Siddiqui family was living in India posing as Sharmaji, photos of Maulvis were on the wall; such an open pole

Four Pakistani nationals living with the identity of ‘Sharma family’ were arrested in Bengaluru on Sunday. It is reported that the family was living in India since 2018. The police have taken action on the basis of inputs received from intelligence officers. According to preliminary investigation, the wife of the said Pakistani national is from Bangladesh and earlier they were in Dhaka, where they were married.

According to the Indian Express report, police say the suspects, 48-year-old Rashid Ali Siddiqui, 38-year-old Ayesha and the woman’s parents Hanif Mohammed, 78, and Rubina Rajapura, 61, were living in the village. The family was living here in the names of Shankar Sharma, Asha Rani, Rambabu Sharma and Rani Sharma.

When the police arrived for the arrest on Sunday, the Siddiqui family was still packing. During interrogation, Siddiqui identified himself as Sharma and said that he was living in Bengaluru since 2018. During the investigation, Indian passports and Aadhaar cards of the family were also produced, which recorded their Hindu identity. According to the report, when the police reached inside, they found Mehdi Foundation International Jashn-e-Yunus written on the wall. Also, there were photographs of some clerics in the house.

During interrogation, Siddiqui alias Shankar Sharma admitted that he was from Liaquatabad, Pakistan. Whereas, his wife and her family are from Lahore. He told that he married Ayesha in an online ceremony in 2011. Then she was in Bangladesh with her family. Siddiqui told that after persecution in his own country he had to shift from Pakistan to Bangladesh.

How to reach India

It has been told in the FIR that Siddiqui had shifted to Bangladesh, where he was a preacher. It is reported that in the year 2014, Siddiqui started being targeted in Bangladesh also. After this he contacted a member of Mehdi Foundation named Parvez in India and shifted to India illegally. According to reports, Siddiqui, his wife and her parents Zainabi Noor and Mohammad Yasin had arrived from Bangladesh via Malda in West Bengal. Here he was helped by some agents.

The newspaper quoted the police officer as saying that the family initially stayed in Delhi and obtained duplicate Aadhaar cards, passports and driving licenses. During his visit to Nepal in 2018, Siddiqui met Washim and Altaf, residents of Bengaluru, and then decided to shift to Bengaluru.

It is reported that Altaf took care of the rent and Mehdi Foundation used to give money for his program. Siddiqui also used to supply oil and sell food items in the garage.
