Sikh Gurus taught us to live for the pride of our land, PM Modi said on ‘Veer Bal Diwas’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Sikh Gurus taught Indians to live for the pride of their land. He said that the Gurus also served as an inspiration to make the country better and developed. In the ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ program organized in memory of the martyrdom of two sons of Guru Gobind Singh, Modi said that today’s India is coming out of the ‘mentality of slavery’ and the world’s attitude towards the country has also changed.

‘There is a clear roadmap to fulfill the dreams of the youth’

PM Modi said, ‘Until we respected our heritage, the world also did not appreciate our heritage. Today when we are proud of our heritage, the world’s perspective has also changed. He said his government has a clear roadmap to fulfill the dreams of India’s youth, irrespective of the region and society they are born in. PM Modi said that the next 25 years will bring a lot of opportunities for the youth. Regarding the growing economy, he said that the government has a clear policy and there is no fault in its intentions.

‘The world today is looking at India as a land of opportunities’

The Prime Minister said that the world today is looking at India as a land of opportunities and the country is playing a big role in solving global challenges. He said that India stands with pride in every field, be it economy, science, research or sports. Modi said, ‘Today India is one of the youngest countries in the world. India was not so young even at the time of its freedom struggle. When that youth power brought independence to the country, then to what heights can today’s youth power take India? This is beyond imagination.

‘The martyrdom of Sahibzadas is being remembered globally’

Recalling the sacrifice of Sahibzadas, the Prime Minister said that today their martyrdom is being remembered not only in India but also globally through programs in countries like America, Australia and New Zealand. He said, ‘The whole world will know more about the brave Sahibzadas of India and will learn from their great deeds.’ Let us tell you that Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated as the martyrdom day of Shri Guru Gobind Singh’s sons Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji. Last year in January, on the occasion of Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Prime Minister had announced to celebrate 26th December as Veer Bal Diwas. (Language)
