New Delhi: An international drug syndicate has been exposed in a joint operation of Delhi Police’s Special Cell and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The team has arrested a foreign drug trafficker of this syndicate and recovered 3.8 kg of drugs called mescaline from him. The accused used to smuggle mescaline in such a way that it was very difficult to catch them, but still the police and NCB teams overtook them. According to reports, the price of 3.8 kg of mescaline in the international market is about Rs 15 crore.
They used to smuggle narcotics from abroad
According to the police, mescaline is a party drug whose use is increasing among the youth. He told that this drug is often being used in parties. Police said, ‘This drug was being smuggled from abroad and was to be sold in Delhi. The smugglers were bringing it hidden in packets of branded toffees and fish food so that they could deceive the police and other agencies. The name of the woman arrested in this case is Faith Rachel, who is a resident of Nigeria. She lived in Delhi and worked for a drug syndicate.’
Police is interrogating the arrested woman
Police said that this syndicate used to smuggle drugs in Delhi and surrounding areas. He said that this operation was done after several months of investigation and surveillance. Police said that this is a big success and this has given a big blow to the drug syndicate. Police is continuously interrogating the arrested foreign woman and trying to find out since when she was associated with this drug syndicate and for whom she was working in Delhi. According to the police, more arrests may be made in this case in the coming days.
