There was heavy snowfall in the high hills of the Himalayas including Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham on Wednesday. People have got relief from snowfall after a long time. Due to snowfall, snow cover has started spreading in Badrinath and Kedarnath. Snowfall started at 12 noon and continued till 6 pm. The blizzard dropped more than 3 inches of snow. There was snowfall in snow sports venue Auli also. However, due to snowfall after a long time, people have heaved a sigh of relief.

Environment lovers including saints and ITBP and police personnel living in Kedarnath were waiting for the snowfall. This time it has been snowing after a long time. Due to snowfall in mid-January, snowfall is now expected in the coming days also.

The hills of Bhairav ​​including Kedarnath Dham have started shining white due to snowfall. There has also been snowfall at places like Chandrashila, Tungnath, Madmaheshwar etc. Local resident told that from Hanuman Chatti to Badrinath, the first snowfall of the year has occurred on Wednesday, there has been only half snowfall but now there is hope of better snowfall this year. Light snowfall was seen on the high peaks including Gangotri. Due to this the cold has increased in the lower areas.

Along with this, drizzle has also occurred in the lower areas. The weather remained bad across the district since Wednesday morning. This is the second snowfall of the season in the slopes of Auli. Let us tell you that the first snowfall occurred in Auli on 12th December. Now once again, after the change in weather patterns, the slopes of Auli have started getting covered with snow. Till now, up to 2 inches of snow has accumulated in Auli. And the weather is still snowy and there is continuous light snowfall.
