…So a consensus was reached on seats in MVA? Nana Patole said- Announcement will be made before Dussehra; tell me what is the plan

Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole has said that the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi will make announcements on some of the 288 seats in the state before Dussehra. He said that more than 150 seats have been discussed in the MVA meeting.

Leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi also held a meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday to continue talks on the issue of seat sharing in Maharashtra Assembly elections. Mahavikas Aghadi leaders held the meeting at ‘Shivalay’, the office of Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), in which Congress chiefs Nana Patole and Balasaheb Thorat, Sharadchandra Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Jayant Patil and Shiv Sena (UBT)’s Anil Patel were present. Desai and Sanjay Raut attended.

Sources said that talks on seat sharing between the opposition alliance are expected to be completed before Dussehra. He said the Congress wants to contest several seats in Vidarbha and Marathwada regions and is also ready to give more seats to the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) in Mumbai and Konkan. Sources said Shiv Sena (UBT) wants more seats in the Vidarbha region of eastern Maharashtra. A Congress leader said that an agreement has been reached among the constituent parties of Mahavikas Aghadi on ’90 percent seats’ of Mumbai, while discussions are going on on six seats.

Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole has also said that the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will make announcements on some of the 288 seats in the state before Dussehra. He said that more than 150 seats were discussed in today’s MVA meeting. Patole said, “We will soon complete it and make announcements on many seats before Dussehra. More than 150 seats have been discussed in today’s meeting. We will take a decision on merits. The seats will be discussed soon.” But there will be clarity.”

The Election Commission has not yet announced the election dates in the state but the politics of polarization is intensifying. The upcoming Maharashtra election is between the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, comprising the UBT Shiv Sena, NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) and Congress, and the Maha Yuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction). There is going to be a competition.
