A few days ago, Israel killed many people including Hezbollah’s top commander Ahmed Wahbi in an airstrike on Lebanon. The death toll in the Israeli attack in Beirut has risen to 37.
A week ago, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had announced in the war cabinet that after Hamas, now the time has come for a direct confrontation with Hezbollah. He had called for resettling people in the northern region adjoining Lebanon and intensifying attacks on Hezbollah. Since then, Hezbollah has been continuously attacked. Israel has killed many Hezbollah commanders in pager and walkie-talkie attacks. More than 4 thousand are also injured in that attack. The death toll in the attack on Beirut on Friday has risen to 37. On the other hand, Hezbollah is also counter-attacking Israel. On Sunday, Israeli media reported that Hezbollah fired more than 40 rockets in northern Israel. However, no casualties have been reported from these attacks. Most of the attacks were destroyed in the air by Shin Bet and Israeli air defense system and the rest fell in uninhabited areas.
America, France and Britain alert regarding Lebanon
The growing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon has worried many countries including the US. On Saturday night, the US State Department urged Americans living in Lebanon to leave the country as soon as possible. The US has cited the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah as the reason behind this.
Similar advice has been given by many countries including France, Britain and Canada. In the advisory issued to the citizens, they have been advised not to go to Lebanon and if they are in Lebanon, they have been advised to evacuate immediately. It has been warned that if there is any delay, their embassies will not be able to help in case of emergency.
