Statewide mourning in Gujarat on November 2 over Morbi bridge accident – Fast Hindi News
Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday said that Gujarat will observe a state-wide mourning on November 2. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The Gujarat Chief Minister tweeted in Gujarati, “A high level meeting was held at Gandhinagar Raj Bhavan under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi.”

“In this meeting it has been decided to observe statewide mourning in Gujarat on the next date, November 2, in condolence of those killed in the tragedy of Morbi.”
The Gujarat CM further said that on November 2, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at government buildings in the state and no government public function, reception or entertainment program will be held.
As reported earlier, PM Modi was briefed today about the rescue and relief operations following the unfortunate accident in Gujarat’s Morbi where a hanging bridge collapsed on Sunday evening, killing over 130 people including several children Went.
The high level meeting was attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Bhai Patel, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi, Gujarat Chief Secretary and DGP along with other top officials of the state home department and Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority.
