Increase in violence against Hindu community in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has witnessed a rise in violence against the Hindu community after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government. A non-political Hindu religious organisation called Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance has claimed that the minority community has faced attacks and threats at 278 places in 48 districts since August 5. It is worth noting that the newly appointed advisor to the Home Ministry of Bangladesh has committed to take strict legal action against those who attack minorities. It was said that there is no place for violence or hatred in the country. Brigadier General (Retd) M. Sakhawat Hussain said that Bangladesh is a country of communal harmony, where people of all religions have moved forward together without any conflict.
