Supreme Court RTI: Now RTI applications will be answered online, portal prepared in SC

New Delhi: RTI portal of Supreme Court has been started for filing RTI application to get information related to Supreme Court. A bench headed by Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud had said during the hearing of the matter that the portal would be launched soon. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court said at the beginning of the mention on Thursday that we want to say that the RTI portal is ready and it will start in 15 minutes.

The Chief Justice said that if some problems arise in the beginning, they will be rectified together. In this regard, by filing an application on behalf of the law student in the Supreme Court, a request was made to prepare a mechanism for filing RTI applications online.

A bench headed by the Chief Justice was hearing a petition filed by law students Aakriti Agarwal and Lakshya Purohit, requesting the apex court to launch a portal for online filing of RTI applications. Justice Hima Kohli and Justice J.K. B. Pardiwala is also included. The Supreme Court had said on November 11 that the ‘online portal’ is practically ready. The applications filed under the Right to Information Act will be answered through the ‘Portal’. Till now, RTI applications regarding the apex court were sent through post.
