The YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India has been hacked. According to the information, now a channel named Ripple is appearing on the channel instead of Supreme Court of India. Earlier, videos related to the Supreme Court used to come on this channel, but now videos related to cryptocurrency are appearing on the entire channel.
What is showing on the channel?
The apex court has been using YouTube to stream hearings of cases listed before constitutional benches and matters of public interest. The videos of the Supreme Court are believed to have been made private by hackers. According to Bar and Bench, the Supreme Court administration is currently investigating the hacking of the YouTube channel.

Supreme Court live streams hearings
A few years ago, the Supreme Court had decided to live stream its proceedings in important Constitution Bench cases. The court held that live streaming proceedings is part of the right to access justice under Article 21 of the Constitution. The court is using YouTube to live stream the hearings. Recently, the Supreme Court live streamed the hearing of the rape and murder case of a female doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on YouTube.
Popular channels get hacked
It is common these days to see popular video channels being hacked on a large scale by scammers. According to the information, Ripple itself had sued YouTube for failing to prevent hackers from impersonating its CEO Brad Garlinghouse.
