Apart from the summit, PM Modi also held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Australia and Japan.

Key announcements from the summit include the ‘Quad Cancer Moonshot’, an unprecedented partnership to tackle the challenges posed by cancer, especially cervical cancer, in the Indo-Pacific region. India has pledged a grant of US$7.5 million for screening and diagnosis of the disease in the Indo-Pacific region to strengthen the fight against cervical cancer.

The Quad nations announced a new Regional Maritime Initiative (MAITRI) for training in the Indo-Pacific to enable their partners in the region to make the most of the tools provided through the Indo-Pacific Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) and other initiatives of Quad partners to monitor and secure their waters, enforce their laws, and deter illegal behaviour.
