According to the Meteorological Department, now the possibility of good rain in Delhi-NCR areas is slight. The Meteorological Department has also indicated an increase in the maximum temperature in the areas of NCR along with Delhi. According to IMD, the maximum temperature in the areas of NCR along with Delhi is expected to increase by two-four degrees Celsius during the next three to four days. However, Delhi may remain partly cloudy during this period. Not only this, due to less humidity people will not feel the heat like before.

How much rain in August and September?

Good rainfall has been recorded in the capital Delhi this monsoon season. Even in the month of September, there has been 59 percent more rainfall than normal. Safdarjung weather station in Delhi usually receives 121.3 mm rainfall in the month of September. But, this time so far 192.5 mm of rain has fallen. Earlier in the month of August also, 67 percent more rainfall than normal was recorded.

Generally, monsoon has withdrawn from Delhi by now. But, this time the departure of monsoon has started late in the country. Due to this, monsoon conditions still persist in Delhi. However, now there is no possibility of good rain in Delhi NCR areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the sky may remain cloudy for the next three days, whereas, after this, there will be strong sunlight during the day.

This one thing will give relief

However, due to less humidity, people will no longer feel the same heat as before. At Delhi’s Standard Observatory Safdarjung, the maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 33.6 degrees Celsius, which is one degree less than normal, while the minimum temperature was 25.2 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees more than normal. The humidity level here ranged from 85 to 62 percent.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature is expected to be 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 24 degrees Celsius. It may remain partly cloudy during the day. The maximum temperature can be recorded at 36 degrees Celsius on 30th September and 1st October. From October 2, the sky will be completely clear and there will be bright sunshine. Due to this, the maximum temperature can be recorded at 37 degrees Celsius on 2nd and 3rd October. However, a slight decrease may be seen on October 4.

Monsoon likely to depart

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon line is continuously moving downwards from the Kutch region of Western Rajasthan and Gujarat. The departure of monsoon started from western Rajasthan and Kutch on 23 September. Now this line has shifted in Firozpur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendra Nagar and Junagadh. Monsoon is also likely to depart from Delhi in the next four-five days.

Due to lack of rain in Delhi NCR areas, AQI may increase. However, till now the air of Delhi has remained clean due to weather activities. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the average air quality index on Saturday stood at 67. The air at this level is kept at a satisfactory level.
