New Delhi. The central government is making preparations to transport people by road, rail, air as well as seaplane. Work has already started for this. The aerodromes from where seaplanes are to be operated have been identified. Sea planes will be operated from these water aerodromes under the UDAN scheme. Seaplane operations were started between the Sabarmati Riverfront and the Statue of Unity.
According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, 25 water aerodromes have been identified for running seaplanes in six states and two UTs of the country. These include Gujarat, Assam, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, besides Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep. Most of these water aerodromes have been identified in Lakshadweep. There are 8 water aerodromes here. On the other hand, the second number is from Andaman and Nicobar, where sea planes will run from five water aerodromes. Apart from this, three water aerodromes have been identified in Gujarat, Assam and Goa. People of Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Telangana can also enjoy traveling by sea plane. One water aerodrome each has been identified in these three states.
Seaplane operations were started between the Sabarmati Riverfront and the Statue of Unity. But due to reasons related to commercial and Kovid-19, its operation has been stopped till April 2021.
