New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party has launched a major attack on Congress over Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s statement of ‘fight against power’. He said that the country will not tolerate such repeated insults to its faith.
The BJP on Tuesday said the entire country is ‘angry’ over the Congress leader’s remarks against Hindu faith and it will be a big issue in this Lok Sabha election. The ruling party also asked whether Rahul Gandhi can make similar derogatory statements against any other religion? The party said that the people of the country will respond to Rahul’s anti-Hindu statements in the upcoming elections.
Congress is no longer a party inspired by Mahatma Gandhi
Addressing a press conference held at the party headquarters here, former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “The Congress Party is no longer a party inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. Under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, this Congress now follows Maoist, divisive and separatist ideas. His views are anti-Hindu.” He strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi’s remarks and said that he is completely under the influence of ‘these elements’. Prasad said, “This country is angry (with Gandhi’s statements). The country will not tolerate such repeated insults to its faith.
We will make it a big issue in the elections
“We strongly condemn it (Gandhi’s remarks),” he said. The country will answer this. We will make it a big issue in this election.” Rahul Gandhi had clarified on Monday that he was not talking about any religious power but about the power of irreligiousness, corruption and lies. The Congress leader had accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of twisting his words and said that he was speaking about the power whose mask Modi was wearing. To this Prasad said that it was not clear what Gandhi wanted to say in his explanation. The BJP leader alleged, “Insulting and condemning Hindu deities, Hindu practices and Hindu ideals has become the biggest issue of Congress’s political campaign these days.” He said Gandhi is making baseless allegations against the Modi government. Because they are not getting votes. (input language)
