After the uproar created by a girl roaming in short clothes at a famous chaat-chowpatty in Indore, the police on Friday registered a case against her for spreading obscenity in a public place. Jitendra Singh Yadav, in-charge of Tukoganj police station, said that an FIR has been registered under section 296 of the Indian Justice Code (spreading obscenity in a public place) against a girl who was recently seen roaming around in skimpy clothes at Shop 56.
He told that some local women’s organizations as well as different social and cultural organizations had filed a complaint against this act of the girl. Yadav said, ‘We have also recorded the statements of the people of these organizations. He says that the girl’s walking in a public place in short clothes spread obscenity, which created anger in his mind.
The girl was seen roaming around in scanty clothes in 56 shops of the city as well as at Meghdoot Chaat-Chowpatty. He himself had posted its video on social media with the title ‘Public Reaction’. After the video went viral, leaders of Bajrang Dal and other organizations had demanded action from the police. As the controversy escalated, the girl apologized and removed these videos from her social media accounts. The Hindi speaking Indian girl had claimed on social media that she lives in Dubai city of United Arab Emirates.
