There is a smell of arrogance; Uddhav lashed out when PM Modi apologized for the fall of Shivaji’s statue

Politics is getting intense in Maharashtra over the fall of the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. While leading a huge rally in Mumbai on Sunday to protest against the fall of the statue, Uddhav Thackeray targeted PM Modi and said that the PM’s apology showed more of arrogance. Leaders of the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi led this huge rally in Mumbai. The rally started from the iconic Hutatma Chowk and ended at the Gateway of India.

Targeting PM Modi, the former Chief Minister asked the public, did you see arrogance in the apology? It smelled of arrogance, when he was apologizing, a Deputy Chief Minister was smiling nearby. Thackeray said that such a mistake cannot be forgiven. We all have gathered here to demand that BJP should be thrown out of India. BJP has insulted Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, they have insulted the soul of Maharashtra, they must be punished for this. Uddhav said that I did not understand what the PM was apologizing for, he had unveiled this statue eight months ago, the statue falling so soon shows that corruption was done in it. Was he apologizing for corruption?

Thackeray also brought the Ayodhya temple into the picture and said that whatever the BJP government has built is a mess, the Ayodhya Ram temple started leaking in the first rain itself, this shows the extent of corruption. In this rally started in the name of “Jode Maaro Aandolan”, Uddhav appealed to the people to join us in hitting the posters of CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar with shoes.

During this rally, NCP leader Sharad Pawar said that the demolition of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s statue is an example of the massive corruption being done by the BJP. This is an insult to all Shivaji’s followers and the whole of Maharashtra.

Actually, the statue of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj collapsed on 26 August in Rajkot district of Sindhudurg. This statue was unveiled by PM Modi on 4 December last year. After the collapse of the statue, first Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde openly apologized, then PM Modi, who reached Maharashtra on Friday, also apologized from the stage and said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not just a name or a king. He is a god for us. Today I bow my head at his feet and apologize to my god.
