There is no ’emergency control’ like situation on India-China border, claims Chinese diplomat

Kolkata. A senior Chinese diplomat said that the earlier ’emergency control’ situation on the India-China border is now a thing of the past and is by and large stable at the moment. Chen Jianjun, deputy consul of the Chinese Embassy in India, told reporters on Friday evening that the two Asian giants are maintaining contact through diplomatic and military channels and promoting the transition of the border situation to normal management and control. He said that the current border situation is overall stable.

Indian and Chinese troops clashed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang sector on December 9, resulting in minor injuries to some personnel on both sides. In eastern Ladakh, there was a clash near Yangtse in the sensitive sector amid the border standoff between the two sides.

After the fierce conflict in Galwan Valley in June 2020, India and China There was a significant deterioration in relations between the two neighboring countries, which faced the most serious military conflict in decades. Jianjun said, ‘The Chinese side has always considered and carried out China-India relations from a strategic and long-term perspective. If there are some difficulties in the relationship, but China’s position is never going to waver. We are determined to take it back on the path of healthy and stable development. He said both countries can draw strength from their ancient civilizations and share knowledge with the world, so that the stability of the international order can be jointly maintained.

He said that in a world prone to change and chaos, China and India can advocate for more institutionalized rights for developing countries. The two countries working together will affect the future of Asia and things beyond. Jianjun said that India’s success as the chairman of G20 and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has China’s full support. “We believe that China and India can find a path of peace and development for neighboring countries together, so as to realize the ‘Asian Century’,” he said.
