Weather News 7 September: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rains for four states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa. Heavy rainfall is expected on September 7. A yellow alert has also been issued in the country’s capital Delhi. The Regional Meteorological Center in Delhi has predicted generally cloudy skies with light rain and thundershowers during the day. Rains are likely to continue till September 9. The maximum temperature on Saturday is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature around 24 degrees Celsius.
The weather agency has forecast rain in Gujarat on September 7 and in Maharashtra and Goa till September 9. Isolated heavy rainfall is also likely over Chhattisgarh till September 13, the IMD said.
The weather department said in its latest weather bulletin, “Very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on September 8 and 9. Telangana will also receive rainfall on September 9 and 10.” The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall over Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka till September 10 and over Telangana for the next three days.
The IMD press release dated September 6 said, “Very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during September 9-12. Rainfall is also likely over Odisha on September 8 and 9.”
Predicting heavy rainfall likely over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till September 13, the IMD said Odisha and Jharkhand may also witness similar weather conditions till September 10. Meanwhile, Bihar may receive heavy rainfall on September 7, Sikkim on September 9 and 10, West Bengal from September 9 to 12 and Arunachal Pradesh from September 10 to 12.
Heavy rains are also expected in Rajasthan today, while Uttarakhand may receive heavy rains on September 7, Uttar Pradesh on September 9 and 10, and Rajasthan till September 8.
