New Delhi/Badaun: Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav has targeted BJP after the committee headed by former President Ramnath Kovind submitted the report on ‘One Nation, One Election’ to President Draupadi Murmu. Describing BJP as intoxicated with power, Shivpal predicted that only INDI Alliance will win in the upcoming elections. A high-level committee headed by former President Ramnath Kovind on Thursday recommended holding simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies as a first step, followed by simultaneous local body elections within 100 days.

‘These people do not believe in democracy and the Constitution’

Samajwadi Party leader and former cabinet minister of Uttar Pradesh Shivpal Singh Yadav said, ‘If the BJP government is in power, it is arrogant and it can do anything. Do not believe in democracy and constitution. They can do anything to stay in power. Only our INDIA alliance and SP will work to remove them from power. Let us tell you that under INDI Alliance in Uttar Pradesh, Congress is contesting on 17 out of 80 Lok Sabha seats and Samajwadi Party and other allies will contest on the remaining 63 seats. Let us tell you that in the last elections also there was an alliance between SP and BSP but still NDA had performed brilliantly in UP.

Law Commission can also issue report

At the same time, in the report of more than 18,000 pages submitted to President Draupadi Murmu, the Kovind-led committee said that holding simultaneous elections will promote the development process and social cohesion. The Law Commission may also simultaneously release its report on the election topic soon. Sources said the Law Commission may recommend simultaneous elections for all three tiers of government – Lok Sabha, state assemblies and municipalities and local bodies – from 2029 and provision for unity government in cases like a hung House or a no-confidence motion. Is. Elections for the Lok Sabha are expected to be held in April-May along with assembly elections in 4 states.
