‘This hatred towards Hindus is not a coincidence…’ BJP lashed out at Congress leader Shivraj Patil’s ‘Jihad in Gita’ statement

New Delhi : Senior Congress leader Shivraj Patil on Thursday claimed that the concept of jihad was not only in Islam, but also in Bhagavad Gita and Christianity. He said that in the Gita, Shri Krishna taught the lesson of Jihad to Arjuna. BJP has reacted sharply to Patil’s statement. The party’s national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla has termed it an “experiment” of polarization of votes ahead of the Gujarat elections.

On the release of the autobiography of senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Mohsina Kidwai, former Lok Sabha Speaker Patil said that it is said that Jihad was discussed a lot in Islam religion. He said that when no one understands even with the right intentions and doing the right things, the concept emerged that force can be used.

Former Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil claimed, ‘It is not only in Quran but also in Mahabharata, Geeta, Shri Krishna also talks to Arjuna about Jihad and this thing is not only in Quran or Geeta, but Even in Christianity.’

Criticizing Patil’s statement, BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla tweeted, “After Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gopal Italia and Rajendra Pal Gautam, Congress’s Shivraj Patil says not to lag behind in Hindu hatred and vote bank politics.” It is said that Shri Krishna had taught ‘Jihad’ to Arjuna. Congress coined the term Hindu/saffron terror, opposed Ram Mandir, questioned the existence of Ramji, equated Hindutva to ISIS.

In another tweet, Poonawalla said, “This hatred of Hindus is not a coincidence but a vote bank experiment – it is a deliberately polarizing vote bank before the Gujarat elections. Earlier, ‘Janeudhari’ Rahul Gandhi also spoke many things about Hindutva, saying that Lashkar-e-Taiba is less dangerous than Hindu groups. Digvijay Singh blamed Hindus for 26/11 Mumbai attack.
