Palakkad (Kerala): Regarding JP Nadda’s statement on the relationship between the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Bharatiya Janata Party during the Lok Sabha elections, the Sangh says that this is a family matter and it has been resolved. Everything is fine in the family. All is well. RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar said this while addressing the media here after the three-day coordination meeting held in Kerala.

discussion on several important issues

Sunil Ambekar said that many important issues were discussed in the three-day meeting. There was an in-depth discussion on the violent attacks on Hindus during the change of power in Bangladesh. Along with this, women’s safety was an important issue. The rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata was also discussed. Apart from the atrocities on the female doctor, the increasing incidents of this kind in other states were also discussed. In-depth consultations were held on how to curb this.

Caste census should not be used as a political tool

Regarding the caste census, the Sangh said that it has no objection to collecting data of particular communities or castes, provided this information is used for their welfare and not used as a political tool for electoral gain. He said that caste and caste-relations are a ‘very sensitive issue’ for Hindu society and it is also important for ‘our national unity and integrity’. He said, ‘This should be dealt with ‘very seriously’.

One Laxman Rekha for all

Ambekar said, “So, as the RSS believes, yes, definitely for all welfare activities, to address issues related to particular community or caste which are lagging behind, because some communities and castes need special attention. So, for this the government needs data. This exercise is done very well. So, the government collects data. It has collected data earlier also. So, it can take it. There is no problem.” Ambekar said, “But it should be only for the welfare of those communities and castes. It should not be used as a political tool for election campaign. So we have set a Laxman Rekha for everyone.” (Input-Agency)
