Prime Minister Narendra Modi today attacked the Congress-National Conference while addressing an election rally in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir and accused the opposition parties of always discriminating against Jammu. The Prime Minister said that the Congress and National Conference even allowed the water of the rivers to flow into Pakistan but when we came, we built dams on those rivers. The PM said that this election is about choosing the future of Jammu and Kashmir. He appealed to the people to vote for the BJP to end the politics of the three dynasties of Congress, National Conference and PDP.
PM Modi said that BJP is committed to the multi-sectoral development of Jammu, which has been ignored by Congress, National Conference and PDP for years. He said that after the repeal of Article 370, separatism, terrorism have weakened, these will be completely eradicated. Launching a strong attack on the alliance of Congress and National Conference, PM Modi said that these parties implement the agenda of Pakistan, that is why the Defense Minister of Pakistan has supported the manifesto of National Conference-Congress. PM said, “We will not allow the implementation of Pakistan’s agenda in Jammu and Kashmir, no power in the world can bring back Article 370.”
Addressing an election rally in Srinagar before Jammu, Prime Minister Modi praised the people of Jammu and Kashmir for voting in large numbers in the first phase of assembly elections and said his ultimate mission is to completely liberate the Union Territory from the “political fiefdom” of three families – the Abdullahs, the Mufti and the Gandhi families. Modi said this at a packed rally at the Sher-e-Kashmir cricket stadium in Srinagar on Sunday. He began his speech in Kashmiri, “Mayaneen saarni kesharen bayan, te benin chu mayane tarfe namaskar (Greetings to all my Kashmiri brothers and sisters).
As the crowd chanted ‘Modi, Modi’, the Prime Minister said from the stage, “This is Naya Kashmir. Our endeavour is the progress and development of Jammu and Kashmir. I can see today that my brothers and sisters are raising slogans of Khushamdid PM (Welcome PM). I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.” PM Modi said a celebration of democracy is underway in Jammu and Kashmir. “Yesterday, the first phase of elections took place in seven districts, for the first time elections were held without the shadow of terrorism. It was indeed a proud moment that such a large number of people came out to vote yesterday,” he said. (With Bhasha inputs)
