Today’s History: Birthday of freedom fighter Chandrashekhar Azad, know other important events of 23 July

New Delhi: Chandrashekhar Azad was born on July 23, 1906 at Bhabra in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh. He sacrificed his whole life for the freedom struggle of the country. Chandrashekhar became a part of the freedom struggle of the country at a very young age. When Gandhi withdrew his movement after the Chauri Chaura incident in 1922, Azad was disillusioned with the Congress. He then joined the Hindustan Republican Association formed in 1924 by Pandit Ram Prasad Bismil and Shachindranath Sanyal Yogesh Chandra Chatterjee.

All India Radio was established in 1927 on 23rd July and at that time the name of this service was Indian Broadcasting Service (Indian Broadcasting Corporation).
