ULFA (I) claimed responsibility for the attack on the Indian Army in Tinsukia, Assam

AssamBanned militant outfit ‘United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent’ (ULFA-I) has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attack on the Indian Army in Tinsukia district. Today i.e. on Tuesday, ULFA (I) took responsibility for the attack on the patrol party of the Indian Army, issued a statement in the e-mail. Security agencies have been alerted after the e-mail surfaced. Patrolling has been increased in incident prone areas. Security forces have also been activated.

It is noteworthy that yesterday i.e. on Monday, unidentified terrorists attacked an army convoy in Tinsukia, Assam. At around 9.20 am yesterday, a bullet-proof vehicle of the army was fired upon from Jungal in Digboi-Pengri area of ​​Tinsukia district. The firing took place when army personnel were patrolling in Borpathar area. In response, the army also retaliated. There was heavy firing from the army side. After which the terrorists fled from the spot. There was no casualty in this encounter between the army and the terrorists.

Army is running search operation since yesterday
Tinsukia SP Abhijeet Gurav told that the army personnel who were patrolling were attacked by unknown terrorists. The army also retaliated, after which the terrorists ran away. No one got serious injuries in the attack. The army has started a search operation. Security agencies are conducting search operation since yesterday. The information about the attack is being collected by the army. Since yesterday, efforts are being made to find out who carried out this attack. After which today the militant organization ULFA (I) has taken the responsibility of the attack. However, after the ULFA (I) claimed responsibility for the attack, no statement has been issued by the army so far.
