You might remember the line of a Hindi film song “Yun jiye marenge saath ki duniya yaad karegi”. A similar case of unique love has come to light from Bhadesar village of Naugaon police station area of Chhatarpur district. A few minutes after the death of 85-year-old Tatura Rajput, his wife Jamni Bai died. Jamni Bai was 80 years old.
According to the information, 85-year-old Tatura Rajput, a resident of Bhadesar village, breathed his last on Monday afternoon. Jamni Bai, who was handicapped in her legs, reached her husband with the help of a stick and tried to wake him up. After trying to wake him up for a long time, Jamni Bai realized that her husband was no more in this world.
Before Jamni Bai could regain balance, she fell on the ground. By the time the family members came to pick her up, she had already died.
Old Jamni Bai always used to say that she will commit sati only with her husband
Family member Jodhan Singh Rajput said that when Jamni Bai was alive, she used to tell her children that she wanted to commit sati with her husband. If God did not call her, then you people should commit sati with her husband. Apart from the villagers, all those who heard about this incident were shocked. The villagers say that such incidents used to happen hundreds of years ago when the practice of sati was prevalent or women used to give up their lives on their own in the separation from their husbands. This incident is unique in itself.
The pyre of both was lit together
After the death of the elderly couple, the family members and villagers took out their funeral procession together. Apart from the villagers, a large number of people from the surrounding area also participated in the funeral procession. After this, the bodies of the husband and wife were cremated on the same pyre in the crematorium, seeing which the eyes of the people became moist.
