Upasana, Rupali Sanjha and Savita Pandey’s creations shine in Sahitya Akademi’s ‘Nari Chetna’ program
In the Women’s Awareness Program organized by Sahitya Akademi, famous writers threw light on different dimensions of women’s writing. Contemporary famous composers Upasana, Rupali Sanjha and Savita Pandey presented their compositions. All the three writers have their own special identity in different fields along with writing.
Famous poetess Savita Pandey presented her poems at the beginning of the programme. The titles of his poems were – daughters of Mahue, death and love, against the dumping ground, a picture of darkness drawn on a board. The images of these poems were going to take you on a journey to the past along with the present. In the poem written on the dumping ground, the pollution spread there by a bird was shown in a huge form.
Along with composing poetry, Savita Pandey also tells stories. The language of his stories is also poetic. Savita Pandey’s short stories are excellent creations at the level of language, craft, narrative and sensitivity. His latest story collection is ‘What’s Going Up’. ‘Gulabi Ladkiyan’ has been his popular story.

Rupali Sanjha recited the opening excerpts of her travel memoir published on her Vietnam trip. The memoir was very interesting and informative. When he found out about the presence of lotus flower everywhere in Vietnam, he came to know that like India, lotus is also the national flower there.

The stories of Upasana, who received the Navlekhan Award of Bharatiya Jnanpith, are always in the center of discussion. He was awarded this award for the story collection ‘Ek Zindagi Ek Scriptbhar’. Upasana’s story collection ‘Darya Bandar Kot’ has been published in Hindi language. Apart from being a well-known writer, Upasana is also a teacher and painter. One of his children’s novel ‘Desk Pe Likhe Naam’ has been published by the National Book Trust.
