Bangalore. During a rally in Karnataka on Thursday, a BJP MLA climbed on the idol of Lord Ram to garland him. After this, losing no opportunity, the opposition Congress in the state has launched a campaign of criticism of the BJP MLA for insulting Lord Ram. A photo of this incident has been shared from the Twitter account of Karnataka Congress. It can be seen in a video of this incident that Sharanu Salagar, MLA from Basavakalyan seat in Bidar district of Karnataka, climbed on the idol of Lord Ram to garland it.
In the video shared on social media, MLA Salagar is seen climbing the statue of Lord Ram and putting a big garland on it and he stops there for a few seconds. He is also seen folding his hands on the statue and posing for photographs. Reacting to this, the Congress party has questioned BJP’s claim of Hindutva and devotion to Lord Ram. The Congress alleged that the BJP leader had insulted Lord Ram. Significantly, the Election Commission announced the date of Karnataka assembly elections on Wednesday. Elections will be held in Karnataka on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.
