The Israeli Air Force carried out precision attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon on Sunday. Israeli officials described it as a large-scale attack. The aim of this military operation, which began at 5 am local time, was to curb the growing threat of Hezbollah on Israel’s northern border. The Israel Defense Force has released a video of this attack. The caption of this video posted on X reads, ‘Operation carried out to destroy Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in Lebanon. It was prepared by Hezbollah to use against us. We saved Israeli homes and families.’
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later addressed his cabinet, warning that the military action was not over. Netanyahu said that we are delivering surprising and crushing blows to Hezbollah. This is another step towards changing the situation in the north and returning our residents safely to their homes. Netanyahu spoke about the success of the operation. In this attack, the army destroyed thousands of short-range rockets. These rockets were used to harm civilians and the army in Israel’s Galilee region. Netanyahu also confirmed that the IDF had intercepted all the drones that Hezbollah had launched at a strategic target in central Israel. This place was described by Israeli media as the headquarters of its spy agency Mossad.
More than 100 Israeli warplanes targeted thousands of Hezbollah missile launchers in southern Lebanon. The attacks were carried out on targets that Israeli officials described as intelligence sites. It was also reported that Hezbollah was on the verge of launching a massive missile barrage into northern Israel. Drone attacks were also carried out on key intelligence centers. Soon after the attacks, Israel declared a 48-hour state of emergency and temporarily closed its main airport. This led to the cancellation of many flights.
