According to the information, the bridge was closed for about 7 months for repairs. It was opened only two days ago. Around 400 people were present on this bridge at the time of the accident, out of which 100 people fell into the river.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident, while 50 thousand to the injured. On the other hand, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Patel has announced an assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased, while Rs 50,000 for the injured.
