Video: Youth entered DU’s Miranda House College by climbing a wall, raised indecent slogans, police and women’s commission took cognizance

On the other hand, the chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Swati Maliwal Said that the commission has issued notice to Delhi Police and Miranda House College administration in this matter. He questioned the security arrangements made by the college during the program.

In a tweet, Maliwal said, “The boys forcibly entered the Diwali Mela at Miranda House, one of the most prestigious colleges in Delhi. The girls have made serious allegations of molestation and exploitation. We are sending notice to Delhi Police and college administration. How did this hooliganism happen? Were security arrangements made?’

The principal of the college has also lodged a complaint with the Maurice Nagar police station regarding the said incident and has promised to take measures to increase security in the college to prevent such incidents in future. They said, ‘Diwali festival The day was very crowded. We had closed the gates of the college, but the students tried to enter by climbing on the walls. The police took immediate action. The principal said, ‘We have taken cognizance of the incident. Police were present during the program. The safety of the girl students is first for us. We are taking steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur in future. I have given a complaint to the police station in-charge of Maurice Nagar and cctv footage I will also provide it soon.

Students of the prestigious women’s college shared several videos on social media in which some youths are purportedly seen climbing walls, roaming around the campus and raising slogans. Police said on a video circulated on social media on Sunday, “Some students (three-four) were trying to enter the college, but they were stopped and the Diwali celebrations on October 14 were “incident-free”. ‘ At the same time, a student claimed in a tweet that she had to face “anti-women and lewd comments” during Friday’s incident as the youths forcibly entered the campus.
