Delhi Excise Policy Case: The accused Vijay Nair, arrested in the Delhi Excise Policy case, has been sent to 5-day CBI custody by the court. The court said that according to the defense, the investigating agency has questioned him 6 times, but he did not cooperate in the interrogation. In the Rouse Avenue Court, special judge MK Nagpal was demanded 7 days’ custody.
CBI said that three mobile phones were also seized from Vijay Nair. The court asked on this that when the questioning is being done from 29th, why were the phones recovered yesterday only? On this, the CBI showed the chat of Vijay’s mobile in the court and told that he was talking to the Signal app. This high profile case in which there are 13 accused including Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. As such it is necessary.
Vijay Nair’s lawyer Rebecca Johns said that we are not filing the bail application yet, because he was abroad when the search was done on August 19. When he returned, on August 28, two of his mobile phones were confiscated. Along with this, the CBI has a total of 5 phones. On this, the investigating agency said that one on September 12 and two phones were seized on August 29. We do not know about the remaining three mobiles. Also alleged that the data has been deleted, about which inquiry is necessary.

The defense requested the court not to send Vijay Nair to CBI custody, as he came immediately whenever called for questioning. It also argued that he has not played any role in framing the policy. The CBI said that at present the investigation in the case is at the initial stage. To get to the bottom of the conspiracy of this whole case, custody is necessary to question the government servants, officials and other accused.
