Russian President Vladimir Putin has gifted 24 purebred horses to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The report said that this gift was given in exchange for the artillery shells used in the Ukraine war. These include 19 Orlov Trotter breed horses and 5 mares which are considered Kim Jong’s favorite. 2 years ago also 30 horses of the same breed were given to Pyongyang. In the propaganda video, Kim Jong was seen riding one of these white horses. The picture of the North Korean leader riding a horse on Mount Paektu amid snowfall went viral on the internet.
The horses on which Kim Jong Un rode are also considered a symbol of North Korea’s heritage. In fact, after the Korean War of 1950-53, the country started efforts for economic reform which was named after the mythical winged horse Chollima. Interestingly, one of North Korea’s rocket boosters is named Chollima-1. According to experts, Kim Jong tried to create an image by riding a white horse. He tried to create confidence in the North Korean people that they have a powerful and lucky person holding the reins of power.

Talking about the Russia-Ukraine war, Russian air defense systems shot down 158 drones overnight, of which 2 drones were destroyed in the city of Moscow and 9 in the area around Moscow. The drone attacks carried out by Ukraine last night are being described as its biggest drone attack so far. 46 drones were destroyed in the Kursk region, where Ukraine has sent its troops in recent weeks as part of the largest invasion of Russian soil since World War II. With these drone attacks by Ukraine, the battle has now reached from the front line to the capital of Russia as well.
