Bihar cadre IPS officer Shivdeep Lande announced his resignation from the Indian Administrative Service on Thursday. It is being said that he was not happy with the working style of Bihar Police for the last few months.
The resignation of 2006 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer Shivdeep Lande has become a topic of discussion. Lande has said that he is leaving the IPS job due to personal reasons. Shivdeep Lande told Hindustan Times that before resigning, he took his mother and wife into confidence. IPS Lande, currently posted as Purnia IG, announced his resignation through a social media post on Thursday. He also said that he will continue to work in Bihar in future as well.
According to highly placed sources, Shivdeep Lande was not happy with the functioning of the Bihar Police. However, he had no grudge against the department. A senior police officer told HT that Shivdeep never compromised with law and order. He always put his duty above everything else. He also said that Lande seemed uncomfortable with the department ever since he returned to Bihar from central deputation.
Speculations have intensified about Shivdeep Lande joining Prashant Kishore’s organization Jan Suraj. PK is also going to form a political party named Jan Suraj on 2 October, which will contest assembly elections on all 243 seats in Bihar next year. Shivdeep can contest elections from Patna by joining Jan Suraj. He was also quite popular among the public while being the City SP of Patna. However, all this is speculation. What will be Shivdeep’s next step after leaving the IPS job, it will be known only in the coming time.
